Child's Voice First, Last & Always

First Translate Documents, then Build the Individualized Education Program (not Plan)

If we work together, I will be your consultant and your child’s advocate.  My role is to help families navigate the complex and stressful special education process for their individual child. I translate and interpret two sets of those foreign languages – documenteeze (reports, evaluations, assessments and forms) and reguleeze (what does the school need to do). Then I help you collaborate with the school district to obtain appropriate supports and services. The goal is to empower and maximize self determination, self advocacy and independence.

First Translate Documents, then Build the Individualized Education Program (not Plan)

A Plan is something you intend to do; a Program is something you implement. IEPs, Evaluations, Notifications present as a jumble of foreign language documents to families -- it's especially overwhelming and confusing for those who are new to special education process. I help families, schools and related service providers understand what the combined evaluations and documents mean for the whole child -- regardless of time of day or setting. Only then can we develop an ambitiously appropriate Individualized Education Program.
